Lexmark X83 Print Delays w/ Windows XP

Hi,

I have recently upgraded from Windows ME to Windows XP
Home edition. My X83 printer worked fine under ME but
now has developed a 60 to 90 second delay when printing
from any program (Outlook, IE, Word, Excel, etc.) under
XP. The X83 control program launches and remains "grayed
out" until the time the document actually prints. I have
downloaded and installed all of the latest Lexmark
drivers and firmware, but no improvements were seen. I
can't find anything in the Microsoft KB. Has anyone seen
this problem before? If so, is there a solution (short
of buying a new printer)?

Thanks,
Sean
