Striped Screen, Printing Stops

I can print a page or two, but then I always get the "striped screen of
death" which contains whatever colors were on the screen at the time, the
keyboard and mouse have no effect, ctrl+alt+del does nothing. I have to turn
it off manually and back on again. I have tried 3 different printers,
different USB ports, different USB cables, also tried a regular printer
cable...all the same result. Sometimes it takes a little while, but it
always happens. I tried stopping and restarting the print spooler, which
seemed to help but actually didn't. I have XP, sp2 and have been using the
same printer for a long time but it was fine then.

It sounds like you have corrupt printer drivers, Try uninstalling them ,
rebooting with the printer disconnected, and reinstall the printer drivers.
The reconnect the printer.

Thanks for the reply. Do you think that the drivers for all 3 printers are
corrupt? I bought a new Epson Workforce 310 printer about a month ago just
to see if that would work properly. It did for a day or so, then the same
problem occurred, and the drivers were newly installed with the new printer.
I have also tried an old Brother laser printer as a test - same result but
it took somewhat longer to present.
